Dakota GENERAL Membership Meeting

Meeting started at 7:11 pm

Minutes from last Board Meeting were approved.

Treasurer’s Report:
Checking balance is $27,348.97 Savings Balance is $9,430.18.
Donations Pending: $1,912.25 Balance: $34,866.90
Treasurer’s Report was approved.

Student Report:

Service Report:

NHS meeting will take place this week.

Fine Arts Report:

BAND: Auditions for ten $100 scholarships are being conducted next week. An adjudicator will rate the audition pieces. The band banquet is scheduled for May 31^st.

CHOIR: April 17-19, State Solo and Ensemble festival will be at the Flint Institute of Music. April 24-25 is State Choral Festival. And April 27^th is the School House Roxx concert.

WINTER GUARD: Storm took 6^th place at the state finals in March. Banquet is schedule for April 19th.

DRAMA: Charlotte’s Web opens Friday, April 20^th at 7:00 pm and two shows on Saturday.

Sports Report:

Sport Season Change update:
The MHASSA and Supreme Court findings are:

-- Girls basketball - Winter
-- Girls tennis – Spring
-- Boy’s tennis – Fall
-- Golf moves from fall to spring.

§ Track and Field has started their season. Track Meet is scheduled for April 19^th at 4:00 pm.

§ Girls Soccer season has begun, and will be playing this evening at Swinehart Field against Eisenhower.

§ Boy’s Tennis will be taking on Ford II at home today and play against Mott tomorrow in Warren.

§ Boy’s Varsity Baseball will be playing DeLasalle on Wednesday at 4:00 pm at DeLasalle’s field.

§ Girl’s softball will be playing Grosse Pointe South on Wednesday at Dakota.

§ District Physical Night is may 1^st from 6:30pm to 8:30 pm at Dakota

Craft Show:

40 spots sold. The craft show is scheduled for November, 2007.

Donation Requests

The DHS Booster Board received the following donation requests for $500 and under:

• APPROVED: Administration requested $500 to purchase a copier/scanner/fax machine
• APPROVED: Custodial Department requested $360 to purchase a ladder
• APPROVED: Custodial Department requested $479.98 to purchase a plumbing power snake
• APPROVED: Student Activities requested $500 to assist with the purchase of New Freshman t-shirts. Administration is picking up the remainder of the cost.
• APPROVED: DHS Booster Board requested $500 to fund a scholarship for Aniuska Rovanina. The board would like to recognize her 3 years of dedicated service as student representative on the Booster Board.
• APPROVED: Student Activities requested $450 to purchase supplies for the Science Olympiad.

The DHS Booster Board received the following donation requests for over $500:

• Administration requested $2,089 to purchase a visual document presenter to use in the auditorium. Board approved, General Membership Approved
• Athletic department requested $3,020 to purchase a flag pole and installation at the Varsity softball and baseball sights. Board approved, General Membership Approved
• Athletic department requested $1,295 to purchase a PA system for outdoor events – Board approved, General Membership Approved
• Student activities requested $4,774.83 to purchase a new poster maker machine – Board approved, General Membership Approved
• Girl’s Tennis requested $6,106 to purchase 35 warm-up jackets and pants to use during practice and games. General Membership Approved
• Girl’s Tennis requested $986 to purchase 35 tennis duffle bags to carry equipment. Board approved, General Membership Approved
• Marching Band requested $1,687 to purchase 2 marching band podiums. Board approved, General Membership Approved
• Boy’s Swimming requested $6,316.90 to purchase 9 lane markers and 2 storage wheels to use during swim meets. Board approved, General Membership Approved
