Dakota Booster GENERAL Meeting

February 12, 2007

Meeting started at 7:05 pm

Minutes from last Board Meeting were approved.

Treasurer’s Report:
Checking balance is $18,556.03, Savings Balance is $29,359.44.
Donations Pending: $5,992.30. Balance: $41,923.17.
Treasurer’s Report was approved.

Administration:

• Secondary Boundary Committee approved proposal at the Feb. 5^th meeting. The biggest change is the Fox Elementary Area; students are slated to attend CVHS in the fall.
• Tentative Fall 07 enrollment for DHS is 2,550 students.
• Michigan Merit Exam mailing going out March 13, 14, 15^th.
• March 6^th is Curriculum Night for current 8^th graders coming into DHS in the fall.
• 9^th grade center on schedule. Although, a board meeting is scheduled on Feb. 22^nd to possibly delay the opening of the center. The “old” Seneca is scheduled for building modifications prior to the opening of the 9^th grade center. More information to come.

Service Report:
Inklusive met today. NHS Officer meeting will be held on Tuesday.

Student Report:
Snowcoming went well, over 750 students attended. The Varity Show will be held on Feb. 14^th and 15th at 7:00 pm.

Sport Report:
Boy’s Basketball – Game scheduled for Friday, Feb 16^th against Grosse Pointe North.

Boy’s Swim – The team is doing well this season. They have many more Division and County meets to go.

Girl’s Volleyball – Game schedule for tonight again Grosse Pointe South.

Cheer: Cheer competition is scheduled for March 3. Volunteers are needed for this Saturday event.

Fine Arts Report:

Band: Feb. 10^th Solo & Ensemble performances. State competition is scheduled on March 24^th at Port Huron North.

Choir: Pre-Festival Concert is scheduled on March 8^th at 7pm at DHS. Choral Festival is scheduled for March 9^th at Stoney Creek HIgh.

Winter Guard: Competitions are scheduled for the following dates: Feb 17^th in South Lyon, March 17^th Troy Athens and March 25^th at Southgate Anderson.

Drama: Charlotte’s Web is scheduled for April 20^th and 21^st.

Dakota Wear: Nothing to report

Craft Show: New application is on-line for 2007. Received 12 applications.

Donation Requests

1. 2007 Junior Class requesting $500.00 for Prom. Board Approved
2. Girls Softball requesting $1,650.00 for pitching machine (new model throws a variety of pitches, not just fast balls). Approved
3. Girls Softball requesting $520.00 for pitching mats, to be used indoor. Approved.
4. DHS Boosters requesting $375 to place a 1-page ad in yearbook. Board Approved
